Today was the day!! Exactly seven weeks after our referral, we got our court date. We were beginning to wonder if it would ever come. They originally estimated that we would travel for court the beginning of December. Well, our court date is January 25! We have to wait two more months before we can finally hold our son. Obviously, this is very hard for us as our love for him grows each day. We do get updated pictures, but it is difficult to see him getting bigger and achieving new milestones that we are missing. We are trying to look on the bright side:
1. We will be home with our family for Christmas.
2. Flights will be cheaper after the holidays.
3. We will get away during the coldest part of the year.
4. We have more time to spend as just a family of four.
As we look forward to our first trip to Ethiopia, there are several things we will be lifting up in prayer. If you could, we would love to have your prayers also. We pray that:
1. We will have safe and uneventful flights.
2. We will have a safe and healthy time in Ethiopia.
3. We will pass court the first time.
4. We will bond quickly with our son.
5. Kyler and Macy will be safe and happy while we are gone.
6. Above all, God will be glorified!
Thank you for your support and prayers to this point in our journey.
I'm so thankful you finally have a court date!! My heart aches for you during this delay. I pray that you are all able to enjoy "the bright side of things" until you meet your little man. Love to you all!
