6 Months Old

Today Isaiah is 6 months old. For his birthday, we received pictures of him from a family that had traveled this past week. It was so exciting to see pictures of him in color, even though he was wearing pink. Ethiopia does not consider blue and pink gender specific colors. The family that took the pictures for us painted a great picture of him with their words. Here is part of the email they sent with the pictures:

What a pleasure to take his picture! What a sweetheart!!
When we got there he was sleeping in his crib. I was just going to take his picture sleeping, but when my flash went off, he woke up! He looked a little startled at first, but then he grinned sooooo big! He was so smiley and happy! I loved it! We sat him up and took a couple of pictures. I would guess he is in 6-9 month clothes. He was alert and looking around at his surroundings. He was a very happy baby....he smiled at us a lot! He has very little hair and it is straight. He was absolutely precious!! Thanks for letting us share this with you!

It makes me smile and warms my heart to read this. How can I love a child so much already and have never seen him in person or held him? He is already a part of me and I can't wait to bring him home to his forever family.

It is amazing how much chubbier he has become since being at the House of Hope. He now has big round cheeks to match his big sparkling eyes! Hoping and praying that our court date comes soon so we can count down the days!

  1. So funny! We have pictures of Alexander in a pink lace-trimmed bonnet and a yellow flower-print dress with ruffles :) Such a gift (the email) to 'hear' about your child halfway across the world. Keep trusting in God's perfect timing.
